VegasNow Lightning Roulette: payouts, multipliers and bonus rules
Lightning Roulette is Evolution's live single-zero table with one addition: every round strikes one to five numbers with multipliers from 50× to 500×. Hit your number with a straight-up chip and you collect 29:1, unless the lightning picked it, in which case the multiplier applies. Every other bet pays as normal. Below, those figures in dollars and how the table fits a VegasNow bonus.

Quick facts before your first VegasNow Lightning spin
Short version: one number, one chip, and a payout that depends on whether the lightning picked that number. Everything else on the layout behaves like ordinary roulette. The table collects the figures this page relies on, with the place each one is published.

Four stages of a live Lightning Roulette round
Every round runs in the same order, which explains most payouts.
Chips go down
While the betting timer runs, you place chips on the layout. A straight-up chip sits on one number. Splits, streets, corners and lines cover small groups on the inside; the colour, parity, high-low, dozen and column bets cover the large groups on the outside.
Betting closes and the lightning strikes
Between one and five numbers are struck, and each one is tagged with its own multiplier somewhere from 50× to 500×. Both the numbers and the multipliers change from round to round.
The ball finds a pocket
The presenter's wheel produces one winning pocket out of 37. For a straight-up chip, zero is simply one more number you can back.
Settlement
Winning chips are paid and losing chips are collected, using the three rules below.
Settlement follows three rules and only three:
- Straight-up chip, number wins, not struck: paid at 29:1.
- Straight-up chip, number wins, struck: paid at that number's multiplier instead of 29:1.
- Any other winning bet: paid at its standard roulette rate, whether or not the winning number was struck.
The practical consequence is simple. If you never place a straight-up chip, the lightning is pure presentation, and your bets settle exactly as they would on a conventional single-zero wheel.
What a straight-up chip returns at VegasNow stake sizes
Winnings equal your stake times 29 when the number was not struck, and your stake times the multiplier when it was. A miss loses the chip. Here is that rule worked out for three stakes, the largest being the A$8 limit that applies while a bonus is active.
| Result of the chip | A$2 chip | A$5 chip | A$8 chip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ball lands on another number | A$2 lost | A$5 lost | A$8 lost |
| Your number wins, not struck (29:1) | A$58 | A$145 | A$232 |
| Your number wins, struck at 50× | A$100 | A$250 | A$400 |
| Your number wins, struck at 500× | A$1,000 | A$2,500 | A$4,000 |
The two struck rows mark the edges of the range. A struck number can carry any multiplier the game draws inside it, and the figure is shown on screen against that number during the round.
Now the odds side. The ball has a 1 in 37 chance of landing on any single number you choose, on every spin, regardless of what came before. No more than five of those 37 pockets are struck in a round, so a struck hit on your own number is rarer again. That is why the 500× row belongs in a table of possibilities rather than in a plan for the evening.
Why a VegasNow straight-up win pays 29:1 on this table
Because the multipliers are funded from the unstruck straight-up wins. First, the bets the lightning can and cannot reach.
Straight-up
The only bet the lightning can touch. It pays 29:1 on an unstruck win and the multiplier on a struck one.
Inside groups
Splits, streets, corners and lines pay their usual roulette rate. A struck number inside the group adds nothing to them.
Outside bets
Dozens, columns, a colour, high or low, odd or even. Standard rates in every round, struck number or not.
Open the paytable on a conventional roulette table in our lobby and look at its straight-up line. The figure there is higher than 29:1, and that gap is the cost of the lightning. Each unstruck straight-up win pays a little less so that the occasional struck win can pay a great deal more.
Neither design is better in the abstract. One spreads its returns across more frequent, moderate wins; the other holds part back for rare, large ones. A player who only bets on colours or dozens pays for none of it and receives none of it.
Spreading A$8 over four numbers: a worked round
Covering more numbers raises the chance that one of your chips wins, but only one pocket can win, so only one chip can ever pay. Here is A$2 on each of four numbers, which keeps the whole round at the A$8 bonus maximum.
| Outcome | What happens to the four chips | Winnings on the winning chip | Stake lost on the others |
|---|---|---|---|
| None of your four numbers wins | All four are collected | None | A$8 |
| One wins, not struck | One pays 29:1, three lose | A$58 | A$6 |
| One wins, struck at 50× | One pays the multiplier, three lose | A$100 | A$6 |
| One wins, struck at 500× | One pays the multiplier, three lose | A$1,000 | A$6 |
Chance check: with four numbers covered, 4 of the 37 pockets win for you, a little under 11% of spins. The other 33 pockets, roughly 89% of spins, take the full A$8.
Put the same A$8 on one number and the chance of a hit drops to 1 in 37, about 2.7% of spins, but a struck hit at 500× is worth A$4,000 rather than A$1,000. You are choosing between more frequent small results and rarer large ones. No spread of chips alters the maths built into the game.
The 25% rule: Lightning stakes against a VegasNow bonus
Every A$1 you stake on this table counts as 25 cents toward a wagering requirement. The rate comes from our general bonus terms dated 26 February 2024, which rate baccarat at 0%, blackjack and game shows at 10%, roulette at 25% and slots at 100% subject to exceptions. Welcome money can be used on casino and live-casino games, so this table is eligible. It is just slow.
Take a first deposit of A$80. The first welcome stage is 150% up to A$1,500, so A$80 brings A$120 of bonus funds. Wagering is 40× the bonus, which makes 40 × A$120 = A$4,800 of qualifying play, due within seven days.
| Where the A$4,800 is played | Contribution | Stakes needed | Rounds at A$8 | Rounds at A$4 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pokies not on the exceptions list | 100% | A$4,800 | 600 | 1,200 |
| Lightning Roulette and other roulette | 25% | A$19,200 | 2,400 | 4,800 |
| Blackjack, Crazy Time and other game shows | 10% | A$48,000 | 6,000 | 12,000 |
| Baccarat | 0% | Never clears | Not applicable | Not applicable |
Spread across seven days, the roulette line works out at about 343 rounds a day at A$8, or about 686 a day at A$4. The bonus clock keeps running whether you are seated or not.
The multipliers make no difference to that count. Contribution follows the stake and ignores the result: a chip of A$4 that lands a 500× strike still moves the counter by exactly A$1.
When a 500× strike meets the VegasNow A$5,000 cash-out cap
While a deposit bonus is running, A$5,000 is the ceiling on what that offer can pay out, however generous the wheel has been. One A$8 straight-up hit at 500× produces A$4,000 of winnings, which fits underneath. A second large hit during the same offer can carry you past the ceiling, and at that point the cap, not the wheel, sets the figure you can withdraw.
| Results during one bonus | Winnings from those hits | Against the A$5,000 cap |
|---|---|---|
| One A$8 hit at 500× | A$4,000 | A$1,000 below it |
| One A$5 hit at 500×, one A$8 hit at 50× | A$2,500 + A$400 = A$2,900 | A$2,100 below it |
| Two A$5 hits at 500× | A$5,000 | Exactly at it |
| One A$8 hit at 500×, one A$5 hit at 500× | A$4,000 + A$2,500 = A$6,500 | A$1,500 above it, and that part cannot be cashed out from the offer |
The cap applies per offer, not per spin, and it sits beside the other bonus rules: only one bonus may be active, the wagering window is seven days, and the A$8 maximum applies to every bet until the bonus is completed, expired or declined.
Playing VegasNow Lightning Roulette with no bonus attached
If roulette is the reason you deposit, declining the bonus is often the tidier choice. Any bonus may be declined under our general terms, and without one the A$8 ceiling, the seven-day clock, the 40× requirement and the A$5,000 offer cap all fall away. One account rule stays: under terms v2.3, each deposit must be turned over three times before you can withdraw the money tied to it.
| Rule | Welcome bonus taken | Bonus declined |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum bet | A$8 per bet | The table's own limits |
| Wagering target | 40× the bonus, roulette counting at 25% | None |
| Time limit | 7 days | None for bonus purposes |
| Cash-out ceiling | A$5,000 per offer | No bonus cap; normal withdrawal limits apply |
| Deposit turnover | 3× the deposit | 3× the deposit |
| A$80 deposit, roulette only | A$19,200 of stakes to clear the bonus | A$240 of stakes before withdrawing |
Worked through: deposit A$80, decline the bonus, and A$240 of stakes satisfies the turnover rule. At A$5 a round that is 48 rounds of Lightning Roulette, set against 2,400 rounds at A$8 on the bonus route. Withdrawal routes keep their own minimums, such as A$30 for MiFinity and A$300 for bank wire; our withdrawals page lists them all.
If a bonus is already running when you change your mind, ask support what declining will do to the funds tied to it before you confirm.
What Lightning Roulette stakes earn in VegasNow loyalty points
Roulette earns 1 loyalty point per A$100 wagered, win or lose. For comparison, slots give a status point plus a redeemable point for each A$25, while blackjack and baccarat give one per A$250. There are seven levels, each themed on a Las Vegas venue, and everyone begins at Golden Glimmer.
Go back to the A$4,800 requirement from the A$80 example. Clearing it on roulette means A$19,200 of stakes, which earns 192 points. That is 8 points short of the Loyalty Store's smallest exchange: 200 points for A$5 of bonus at Golden Glimmer.
| Route through A$4,800 of wagering | Stakes | Earning rate | Points |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pokies | A$4,800 | 1 per A$25 | 192 |
| Lightning Roulette | A$19,200 | 1 per A$100 | 192 |
| Blackjack | A$48,000 | 1 per A$250 | 192 |
The earning rates mirror the contribution rates, so every route through the same requirement lands on the same points total. What changes is how much money has to pass across the table to get there. Bear in mind too that a bonus exchanged in the Loyalty Store carries 40× wagering of its own, so exchanging for A$5 brings A$200 of wagering with it. Our VIP and loyalty page explains level thresholds and the Sin City VIP Lounge.
Lightning Roulette on a phone through the VegasNow site
Open it in Safari or Chrome on the phone. Apple's and Google's stores carry no verified VegasNow app, and you should not install any APK file that claims to be one. For one-tap access, save the VegasNow site as a Home Screen icon; our mobile app page walks through it for iPhone, iPad and Android.
A live stream asks more of a phone than a pokie does, so a few habits help:
- Play on Wi-Fi or a strong mobile signal. A frozen stream is usually the connection, not the account.
- Place chips early in the window. It closes on the presenter's timer, not when you finish tapping.
- If the stream drops mid-round, note the time and any round reference before contacting support.
- Put a deposit limit on the account ahead of the first spin.
Common Lightning Roulette assumptions, checked against the rules
Most disappointment at this table traces back to one of these beliefs.
| The assumption | What actually happens |
|---|---|
| A struck number boosts every bet that includes it | Only straight-up chips are multiplied. Splits, corners, dozens, colours and the rest pay their standard rate. |
| Big multipliers come along most rounds | Between one and five numbers are struck, at 50× to 500×. With at most 5 of the 37 numbers struck in a round, the number you are on is usually not among them. |
| 29:1 is the normal straight-up price | It is this table's price. A conventional table prints a different figure; compare the two paytables in our lobby. |
| A huge win clears the bonus faster | Contribution is 25% of the stake. A chip of A$4 counts as A$1 whether it loses or lands 500×. |
| Bigger bets are fine once I am ahead | With a bonus active, A$8 is the ceiling on every bet until the bonus is completed, expired or declined. |
| A number that has gone quiet is due | The wheel keeps no memory. Each number has the same 1 in 37 chance next round as it had last round. |
| Spreading chips covers the lightning | Only one pocket wins. Four numbers give four chances in 37, and three of the four chips lose even when one hits. |
Before you sit down: a VegasNow roulette session checklist
Run through this once per session; it settles the decisions that are hardest to make mid-round.
- Set the session budget and a stop time before opening the lobby.
- Check that a deposit limit is in place in your account settings.
- Decide on bonus or no bonus before the deposit. If you only want roulette, declining is usually the simpler path.
- With a bonus active, keep every chip at A$8 or less and track the days left on the bonus.
- Remember that only straight-up chips meet the lightning; everything else is ordinary roulette.
- Stop when the budget is spent, not after the next near miss.

VegasNow Lightning Roulette: your questions answered
How much is a straight-up win worth on VegasNow Lightning Roulette?
29:1 if your number wins and was not struck. If it was struck, the bet pays that number's multiplier instead, somewhere from 50× to 500×. On a chip of A$3 that means A$87 of winnings for an unstruck hit, and A$150 to A$1,500 for a struck one.
Does a struck number change my red, black or dozen bet?
No. Only straight-up bets are multiplied. Colours, dozens, columns, odd or even, high or low and the inside group bets all pay their standard roulette rate.
How much of my Lightning Roulette stake counts toward a VegasNow bonus?
25%, per the general bonus terms of 26 February 2024. A bet of A$6 therefore counts as A$1.50 toward the requirement, whether it wins, loses or hits a multiplier.
What is the largest bet I can place while a bonus is active?
A$8 per bet. At that stake, a straight-up chip struck at 500× returns A$4,000 of winnings, which sits under the A$5,000 cash-out cap for that offer.
Is there a published RTP for Lightning Roulette?
The provider's game page does not state a return-to-player figure, so we do not quote one. Any RTP quoted for a roulette game describes very long-term play and says nothing about one evening.
Do I earn loyalty points at the Lightning table?
Yes, at 1 point per A$100 wagered on roulette. A$1,400 of stakes earns 14 points. The minimum Loyalty Store exchange is 200 points for A$5 of bonus at the Golden Glimmer rate, and exchanged bonuses carry 40× wagering.
Does Lightning Roulette work on a mobile?
Yes, through Safari or Chrome. No verified VegasNow store app exists and there is nothing to sideload; saving the site as a Home Screen icon gives you app-style access.
Is it possible to skip the bonus and just play?
Yes. You may decline a bonus, which lifts the A$8 limit, the seven-day clock and the 40× requirement. The deposit still needs to be wagered three times before withdrawal, so a deposit of A$95 needs A$285 of stakes.
